Proven experience and expertise

M.C.J. Swart, Master of Laws, started the law firm Swart Law on 4 March 2007. On 1 March 2009, the firm changed its name to Swart Attorneys. Since 1 January 2010, the firm has been a partnership, going by the name of Swart & De Schepper Attorneys. Six attorneys currently work at the firm. The firm's offices are situated on the western edge of Eindhoven adjacent toexperience and expertise the motorways heading south and east, making them easily accessible. At present there are two staff employed at the offices. The firm has an informal atmosphere.

Among them, the firm's lawyers have a great deal of knowledge in the fields of employment law, debt collection, contract law, insurance law, liability, corporate law, divorce law and inheritance law. Many individuals and companies, both national and international, turn to Swart & De Schepper Attorneys when they need a firm specialising in these areas of law. When accepting clients Swart & De Schepper Attorneys does not distinguish between individuals and companies. The firm welcomes clients of both types and has a wide variety of (in many cases, regular) clients, including multi-nationals, local businesses, contractors, temporary employment agencies, company directors, human resource managers, independent professionals (such as architects, accountants, doctors, fellow lawyers) and employees with varied occupations (for example lorry drivers, cleaners, builders, administrative workers, sales managers and nursing staff).

The first meeting with the lawyers to discuss the possibilities is entirely without obligation. Marco Swart: "We only ask for payment for our services once the client has experienced the added value of our work and we have come to an agreement about payment". With Swart & De Schepper Attorneys, the client always knows what he's getting himself into. The legal opportunities and possible courses of action, but also the risks and threats, are all explained in advance. If court proceedings are necessary, the client is always well prepared. Costs and benefits are always in proportion. These features distinguish Swart & De Schepper Attorneys from the countless other law firms in the Netherlands.

Marco Swart has been a Dutch lawyer since 1996. This profession was an obvious choice for him. He wanted to help people foundering in the legal system and experiencing unfair situations when trying to get justice. What he enjoys about his work is achieving practical solutions in difficult situations. Concluding a case to the client's satisfaction is important to him. "The client's satisfaction is our real reward." His expertise, proven experience, strategic approach and tenacity give Marco Swart the edge over other lawyers. The lawyers at Swart & De Schepper Attorneys write for various publications, including a magazine for human resource managers, and are active members of the Legal Society and various associations in their specialist fields.

Swart & De Schepper Attorneys wants to help make law firms more approachable. At present, many potential clients are deterred from approaching a law firm by ignorance and uncertainty about fees and the potential assistance a lawyer can provide. "Many disputes could be avoided by sitting down with an expert lawyer to consider the matter thoroughly and put it down on paper before entering into an agreement". One of the reasons for this is that few people realise that lawyers can be very useful in avoiding disputes. Swart & De Schepper Attorneys would like to see a change in the legal profession: "Lawyers could be much more colourful in their appearance and the way they present the profession". Marco Swart's advice to those in search of justice is as follows: "It's good to trust the people around you, but don't forget to stay alert and critical at key moments".
